What is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?

"Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a serious anxiety-related condition that affects as many as three in a hundred people"

There is a lot of information out there about OCD, and a distinct lack of information about how to go about curing it, only how to deal with it. From this description from OCDUK, we can see that OCD is the result of anxiety and fear. If OCD is caused by anxiety and fear then we know there is an out of balance reaction going on in the primal brain and that is where the problem comes from.

OCD can come with a variety of symptoms often manifesting itself physically in some way, for example excessive hand washing, or checking the locks of your house over and over. In all cases these are symptoms and are unimportant when dealing with OCD as they are not the cause of the problem, they are what happens after the problem has already occurred.

OCD Medication

I’m going to cover OCD therapies in more detail in a future post however I just wanted to make a brief post about using medication for the treatment of OCD. It is my belief that in almost all situations medication should be a last resort. It is far too often that doctors will prescribe what they think might help rather than doing some extra research and finding a cure. I don’t blame them, they have hundreds of patients to see to and speaking for the UK (though I’m sure this applies to the rest of the world too) there simply aren’t enough doctors to go around.

Medication is not a viable option for any condition where emotions are the cause, this includes things like social anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, OCD and a great many more. Medication will never allow you to explore what it is that really creates the problem you have in the first place which is hugely important if you want to get rid of it. What medication will do is treat the symptoms of a problem so that you can live comfortably.

Comfortable is not enough. Life was never supposed to be all about comfort. Life was supposed to be about taking risks, making mistakes, being happy/excited, having fun, maturing, being scared, and all the other emotions that we naturally have living inside us. Medication, particularly in the case of SSRI’s really hampers what we are able to experience in life, they affect the levels of various chemicals in the brain and create unnatural levels that need daily attention.

Curing OCD

Though many may disagree. OCD is curable. If you are a sufferer there are a few things that you need to have. These are:

A desire to change.

An ability to come face to face with some nasty feeling emotions for a short while.

The ability to see something through to the end, even if it hurts.

If you have this I recommend using the 3D Mind. It is the only process I know of, in many years of research, that allows to you directly tackle the root problems of out of balance emotional reactions in the brain. It is a simple process to work through and will allow you to get rid of OCD forever. No more medications, no more diagnoses, no more symptoms. The 3D Mind works by balancing out the out of balance emotional connections inside the brain, that way OCD cannot exist in the first place.
