Today I’m very excited to anounce a new category on my blog "Fitness and Wellbeing".
This is a topic very close to my heart. I love to spend time every week making sure I eat healthy, get in plenty of exercise and treat myself well. Within every human body there is an equilibrium that needs to be taken care of and nurtured. If you ignore the problems of either mind or body for long enough it will start creating problems in the other. However the flip side of that is that if you take care of one the other will also start improving too.
In the brain there are specific feel good chemicals (Endorphines) that are released when you exercise. I won’t go into the science of it here, at least not just yet. However I have found from my own experience and from talking with many others that when they exercised their bodies regularly their abilities to tackle things emotionally improved greatly as well.
Eating well leads to plenty of day long energy, a clear mind, ability to focus and concentrate easily on difficult tasks, a strong immune system which leads to fewer illness’ and shorter periods of time required to recover. You can see a fantastic website for gathering information on what you should be eating for a healthy lifestyle here, I use this website regularly, and find it extremely informative.
Wellbeing is not all about having a healthy body. You need to have a healthy mind too. Having a healthy mind is probably not something you are going to just stumble across. Much like you exercise your body to become fit you must provide exercise for your mind too and in truth I think far too few people do this.
Sometimes when you exercise you can receive injuries. The mind has it’s own form of injuries, and I’m not talking brain traumas here. When we go through experiences in life which are novel (new), involve high emotional states, and have some form of negativity in them the mind can create bad beliefs which taint your reality and cause you to filter out things which might actually help you create a really great life. Depending on the belief life can become either a little bit harder or it can be that it becomes impossible to live, and anything in between. In order to deal with these beliefs we need a tool so that we can recover. The tool I will present in all my posts (because I believe it is the only truely successful tool out there) is the 3D Mind. I will discuss the uses of this tool and how changing your beliefs can give you much greater abilities to perform any task whether it’s directly health, fitness or wellbeing related or not.
I hope you find these posts helpful and informative. Feel free to leave comments. I look forward to your feedback!
